Color got in my bones,
are we made of the same dust?

I’ll try to keep my big, big heart in line
Olive is a musical and visual artist; sitting pretty holding in one hand the fantastical fascination of whimsical beauty and poetry, and in the other, the somewhat unwieldy actualities of day-to-day life and growth. These, at times, grin at each other; at times, snarl. Olive enjoys the art of making music out of these dualities, hoping to establish a peace and harmony between the two. And if nothing else, have a good story-telling moment in the attempt.
She recently released her third studio album “I Promise I Will Be Completely Chill” recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jon Joseph. Olive’s music is inspired by nature, anthemic and hopeful; telling tales of taste and texture, the imagery of life’s great moments of connection, and the auspicious sense of love and belonging. Poetic lyrics, clear vocals, suffused with synth, keys, guitar, and a groovy, energetic vibe that just feels nice.
Olive grew up in the American Midwest, playing music and touring throughout North America. In her late-teens/early 20s, Olive began exploring visual arts, i.e. paint, sketch, photography, design and textiles; and soon learned she holds the source of a welcome flow of artistic expression that takes many different forms. She is currently based out of Spain, immersing herself in a new culture and new curiosities; seeking out fresh perspective and focusing on active growth of her personal, as well as, professional life.
Olive has felt a buzz in her since childhood: an open curiosity, a constant search for meaning, a love of intimate conversation, a desire to explore new places/new faces, but also to burrow in and get as cozy as can be. Much of Olive’s work is based around these tiny moments/desires that, when pondered, become rich, enveloping stories; stories that aren’t caught up in happy endings or destinations, but the lovely, simplistic (yet profound), unfolding moments of the in-betweens.
